HOW THE AUCTION WORKS
At the close of the online auction on March 14th, the leading bid for each of the chairs will be taken through to be auctioned at Bonhams in London on March 15th through either a live auction or through a silent auction.
The highest bidders from the online auction phase will be contacted by phone or email (at the number provided when you registered to bid online) by a representative from Bonhams or CHIVA Africa on March 14th/15th and given the opportunity to continue bidding at the live auction by either:
- attending the event at Bonhams on March 15th from 6pm
- by submitting an absentee bid (submitting your maximum bid)
It will also be possible to bid on the telephone for the chairs that will be live auctioned between 7pm and 8pm on the March 15th. A representative from Bonhams will call you at a pre-arranged time.
If you have submitted a maximum absentee bid, once the auction moves to Bonhams, bidding will be monitored by a representative from Bonhams who will bid on your behalf up to your maximum bid. You will be notified the day after the event what your final winning bid is or if you have been outbid at the event.
There will be no buyer’s premium, commission or VAT added to the final bid price. Settlement must be made directly to CHIVA Africa. Collection or delivery (not included in the sale price) must be arranged with CHIVA Africa.
