How We Work
No text book can teach the lessons learned through experience
Across South Africa, many healthcare professionals need to develop the confidence to use antiretrovirals in children. They also need the support to develop the additional skills required to manage these children long-term.
Our UK volunteers have a wealth of practical experience and knowledge of the longitudinal management of HIV positive children.
Our purpose is to share our experiences to overcome one of the biggest barriers to managing HIV in children.
Since we have been working in KwaZulu Natal, our colleagues there have gained a breadth of experience which far surpasses that of our UK volunteers.
Combining the strength of UK and KZN health professionals has resulted in more effective teaching teams and we are excited to be expanding our programme, taking these teams to the Eastern Cape.
